OUR STAFF--

As in most professional practices, the success of the Ponderosa Animal Clinic is not accidental.  It is primarily due to the competence and hard work of the doctor's remarkable staff.  Here they are:

Pictured above are--Receptionist, Cheryl Detweiler  (employed since 2-00)  and Office Manager & Receptionist, Freida Vezorak (7-89)

Veterinary Assistants pictured above are:  Amber Jones (8-99), Shane Berry (8-98), Patti Y. (8-95), and we bid fond farewell to staff member, Christina Azzarello (8-00) who has returned to her former job. (Felix is being held by Christina for this photo.)

Our newest employee, Tami, joined us in 12-00. She is a student at Tomball College and is studying for a career in veterinary medicine. She will be working afternoons and Saturdays.

OUR FACILITY--

While the facility is essentially a clinic, many features of a hospital can be found as well:

An in-house laboratory capable of giving the doctor complete blood counts and blood chemistry profiles in less than an hour.

Radiology--using modern plates, screens and grid to provide normal and contrast-enhanced radiographic diagnostics.

E.K.G.--for diagnosis and monitoring of heart conditions.

Ultrasonic dental cleaning machine.

New anesthesia machine and patient monitoring device.

Steam pressure-sterilized surgical packs (caps, masks, gowns, and gloves.)

Completely indoor compartments for as many as thirteen patients.

Computer-assisted veterinary diagnostic programs.

Prescription Diet & Science Diet  foods for your pets.

Referrals when necessary to Board Certified Veterinary Specialists.

OUR EMERGENCY CLINIC--

In 1975,  veterinarians in this area got together and decided to build and staff an emergency clinic to serve their clients after hours. The clinic is located on the southbound access road of 249 just north of Willowbrook Mall.  It is open all night and on weekends and holidays.  There are other places that might serve you at night, but THIS is the place to go for emergency care. Call them at (281) 890-8875. Here is a map to the emergency clinic:

FELIX--OUR OFFICE CAT

Our office mascot was born a block from the office in mid-1992. He spent his early months with his mother and 3 brothers mooching food from homes and businesses.  Dr. Drow brought him to the clinic after a car drove over the little kitty, badly fracturing his pelvis.  He was small and quiet, but healed beautifully, prospered, and became a favorite of our staff and visitors. When half-grown, he went to San Antonio to live with and comfort Dr. Drow's aging father.  After completing that mission in 1995, he returned to the clinic full time. He is our official food-taster, crowd-pleaser, and Goodwill Ambassador.  He likes his job here very, very much.
